Description of the trip

Guided canoe and hiking trip in Repovesi National Park

The tour starts at the national park gate at the time of welcome and information and continues according to a pre-agreed program.

The normal course of the program is as follows:

• Guided hiking to the campfire site
• Welcome coffees with stuffed bun (meat or fish filling)
• Departure to the waters by our canoes
• Lunch by the campfire
• Guided hiking and return to the starting point
• Thank you for the trip and welcome again

The program is adjusted according to the size of the group. The determining factor is the number of canoes, which can accommodate 16 people at a time in addition to the guide. Two people usually go in one canoe. Some can have three if the size of the group with the guide is odd.
The guide gives good instructions for handling the canoes and thus ensures a safe trip. The tools themselves are stable.

A canoe trip will introduce you to the park’s prehistory, rock paintings, and last ice age.
We may also visit the Natural Theater, which hosts concerts every year.

During the hike, you usually visit the Katajavuori viewpoint and cross the water twice, along the Lapinsalmi suspension bridge and by hand-operated ferry.

The day can be extended with a sauna and a good dinner. Ask about opportunities!

Basics

Group size: 6-32 people. Also a possibility to larger groups. Ask!

The trip is available in the summertime from June to September, depending on the weather. The excursion must be booked one week before the excursion day.

Gathering and departure at Lapinsalmi car park, Riippusillantie 55 Kouvola.
The departure time of the trip is agreed upon separately.

The trip lasts about 6 hours.

We have raincoats for everyone who needs them if there is a threat of rain.

The price of the trip is affected by the number of people and the agreed content. Naturally, the price/person decreases as the number increases. The trip is suitable for everyone over 15 years old.

When dressing, pay attention to the weather of the day. It is good to take drinks with you on a nature trip: 0.5 l of water is a good solution.

The trip cannot be made during a storm or thunderstorm. In such a case, the weather can be expected to improve, or the trip can be postponed to another free time. If the trip is canceled completely due to the storm, we will refund any advances paid.

The tour operator has liability insurance, covering the organizer’s activities and equipment, such as canoes and their functionality. We recommend leisure or other accident insurance to the participant to secure their own activities.
